| Posted: | | | | I don't remember running into this problem. The recent contributions have documented multiple sources and, since that complies with invelos guidelines, that is adequate for me. |

| Posted: | | | | I don't mind multiple sources as long as they don't all use the same source! The Uncredited I don't like & never accept locally are those who only say they know "John Smith". To me that isn't a verifiable addition by the majority. |

The guidelines I can find are: Quote: Uncredited actors may be listed in alphabetical order following all credited actors. Use the "Uncredited" checkbox to indicate these. Uncredited actors are not required entries. and Quote: If there are no credits, the film's official site may be used as a source, as long as the inclusion does not violate the site's published policy (if any). and Quote: Please submit uncredited cast only if: - You have personally identified the cast by viewing the film - -OR- The cast is copied from a previously accepted profile with documented uncredited cast
Be sure to specify the source in your contribution notes So accpetable sources would seem to be: 1) Visual identification in the film 2) The film's official web site 3) A previously accepted profile of the same film with proper documentation --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | I might add that another uncredited cast entry I personally wouldn't accept is one where the person is only present in the movie because that movie had some sort of included archival footage. Or something as banal as including an uncredited entry because a photogragh of the person hung on a wall in some particular scene. |

I would never simply copy from another Profile, there is much data from the "old" days which has never been verified but has been grandfathered. Most of the "old" data was ummmmm how to put this copied from somewhere before we were forbidden to do so. I would not remove the old data from an old Profile because ken did not want to summarily remove such data since there were nugget off gold in them thar Profiles which would be lost. Such as Clint Eastwood's (uncredited) role in the Creature from the Black Lagoon. This old data has never been verified, if you would want to verify it I would encourage but I would not simply copy it over.

Skip In fairness to Scott he did say "with proper documentation". From that I took it to mean only those that have been verified & documented by our users and not possibly, maybe long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, by IMDb . |

I guess that's why the guideline says "The cast is copied from a previously accepted profile with documented uncredited cast". Most of the uncredited in profiles I've seen is undocumented and is thus ineligible. --------------- |

--------------- I've not seen either film but if a person did not specifically film a role for a film, I wouldn't credit them. |

He appears only in still images, though I'm confident they were made specifically for the films. I don't guess you could call them roles, exactly. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | @Forget: I'm sure you know that Hitchcock is well known for his cameo appearances in his own films?
BTW this is not to say these appearances should not be documented. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

BTW this is not to say these appearances should not be documented. Indeed but I really wouldn't count a photograph as a cameo! |
