The question is this, was the no vote correct in it's comment?
Did you look at the contribution and see if the no voter was correct?
By the way, I voted no. And my source was the dvd and the cover. Where exactly does it say "home video" on the case? i'm not saying it isn't right i just don't see it on the case. i see www.universalstudios.com/home so does that mean "home video" or "home entertainment". i didn't check actual dvd. my apologizes. this info would be usueful in the no vote. i have received no votes for rating details for the simple fact that i didn't state it was from the case, website, etc.. so your reason doesn't make sense. if the voter checked the rating detail to his or her dvd they would see what i contributed was correct without providing documentation. |

If you pop the DVD in your player, it comes up with the usual legal nonsense about how the views and opinions expressed in the interviews do not reflect the opinons of Universal Studios Home Video. thanks for this answer. short and sweet, right to the point. i didn't check the dvd like i said i just seen www.universalstudios.com/home on the back and went with home entertainment. i will start checking actual dvd for MC. Thanks!! |

(JOKE) I am less than amused, Samuel. No I did not vote on his Van helsing as I am sure brian will be happy to confirm. I have a copy but evidently not his copy or version.
For the record mine say USHV but that was the ORIGINAL release in 2004 and there have been a couple since then, I think, plus the BD.
Skip I'm guessing Skip has the widescreen version? i always try to buy fullscreen when i can! |

The voting system is to help the screeners make a decision, the the majority doesn't win or make the decision here. Wow, the majority doesn't win? Brillant! why not just have the screeners make all the decisions? i wasn't saying the majority should "win" i just asked if some users have more clout. a very honest question. so if "YES" votes mean nothing i wont vote unless i can vote "NO"! |

Skip I'm guessing Skip has the widescreen version? i always try to buy fullscreen when i can! For that I will henceforth refer to you as Joe...as in Joe Six Pack. Let me give a quick and dirty history though I am aware of at leats one exception. From 1997-1999 Universal used UHV From 2000 to mid-2004 the used mostly UHE Mid 2004-2005 they bcame USHE, this can gnerally be noted either on the disc as Unicus pointed out OR they print Universal Studios Home Video in the UPC area Finally 2005-Present the became USHE, usually can be found as part of the logo, usually lower left, though this too has been seen in the UPC area It was recently uncovered that a 2002 title was actually USHV, apparently printed on the proof-of purchase that is part of the insert, at this point I have no earthly idea if that was a freak or something more common. Now as I said Van Helsing has seen a couple of releases beyond the initial, so it is possible that we would have a Van Helsing that would factually show USHE. Clear as mud, right Joe. You are right, the majority doesn't win here. It shouldn't be either. The screeners are supposed to take into account the contribution and the votes. Even if you have 30 yes votes, and the screener notices something wrong, he can decline the contribution. As far as the other point, let's say I make a contribution that changes 15 cast and 10 crew, and I state that it is per the credits. After 2 days I have 16 yes votes, with 3 of them making comments "Thanks" or something. On the third day, you vote no and gave a reason. You went and checked the disc and found out that I made 2 spelling mistakes. Now under normal circumstances, I would verify those and submit an update (I have said in the past that I am not that prideful). Let's say I didn't get a chance to see the no vote. Now it is up to the screeners, Do the screeners go ahead and approve it, because 16 yes votes rubber stamped and trusted that I didn't error, or do they decline it, because you did find an error? I personally hope they decline it. I guarantee that I will go back and review the credits, and fixed the mistakes I introduced and it will be submitted again. Hopefully this time you vote yes (if appropriate) There are really 2 things that I would like in this process. 1. I would like the contribution and voting to be on each section. The screeners should be able to approve a cast list and decline a crew list or some combination. 2. I wish the screeners had more time to put in a decline reason, instead of no reason or one of the generics that don't say much. | | | Last edited: by CharlieM |

| Posted: | | | | It doesn't take any no vote to get declined. I recently submitted scans for World Trade Center 2-disc. The voting was 12-0 in favor, with only one "Thanks" and one "this is tough one" (not sure if that was in reference to the reflective covers, or if they couldn't decide which they liked better). So it closes at 12-0 and gets declined...
I haven't bothered asking, I just guess the screener didn't care for it. I thought it was better in nearly every way, silver bg instead of bluish, much clearer pictures on back. The only bad thing was the "2-Disc Commemorative Edition" text on front ws lost to scanner glare. |

| Posted: | | | | Typically with scans, the new image has to be easily identified as being a better scan. If you increased the detail in certain areas, be sure to point that out. |

Thanks man. i never noticed that up in the upc area. you have some good eyes. like i said i looked at back towards the bottom and saw www.universalstudios.com/home and thought since it was a newer release it would be home entertainment. thanks for helping me! |
