Something did happen. He updated a profile per new features and rules, and did it by the books, as has been done countless times in the past, then he was downvoted and jumped on by a majority of the users here for doing it. I can see his point. If contributions can no longer be made according to the rules, of what purpose is there in contributing to the site, database, and community?
In my opinion the big problem on this site is severe lack of moderation. There are so many issues and questions posted to the forums that could be easily solved by a single and simple reply from Ken or other people he appoints as moderators, as well as timely updates to the contribution rules themselves. Instead, threads go on for pages and pages of pointless bickering and insults, with SOME users having free reign to troll, insult, and belittle others to their heart's content, without any fear of reprisal from a moderation team or from the site owner himself.
If this changed, DVD Profiler would easily be two or three times the program that it currently is. I completely agree. | | | Last edited: by sugarjoe |

| Posted: | | | | Shame to see him go like this though it looks like he was almost beaten out.
All of his posts since December 7th have been deleted - and currently being deleted at this time. | | | Last edited: by Dr. Killpatient |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for all the help Giga Wizard in the past several years, hate to see you leave especially like this. But cant really blame you. If you're not coming back, all the best |

| Posted: | | | | Just FYI, I don't have any insight into Giga's decision either - no PMs, emails, or support tickets. Of his recent contributions, virtually all were accepted, so I doubt that's the source but who knows?
We do have the ability to reinstate all posts edited by a particular user automatically, but have made no decision in regards to that here. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | All I can say is it must have been something very, very troubling for him to go to all the trouble of deleting everything he's posted. Since he has been a frequent contributor here, there are a lot of posts to delete! | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. DVD Profiler user since June 15, 2001 |

Last I saw, if it is the discussion I am thinking of, those that didn't agree with his position claimed they would not vote no as his contributions were 'technically' correct. I hope you do reinstate them...and institute some system where this can't happen. 3,814 deleted posts will ruin the context of a lot of threads. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. | Posted: | | | | For Ken,
Are you sure that it is Giga deleting his posts, and not that his account has been hacked by someone else?? | | | |

Whatever the problem was that set him off, there is no reason to remove forum posts that don't relate to the issue at hand. Would we let him remove contributions because he is upset? |
