So if you like a direct translation from written English to thought process.

That's what I would call functional equivalent. Two different role names for the same role function.

You would agree with Giga Wizard that functional equivalents are already allowed by the rules as direct translations?

I see Special CREATURE DESIGN as Creature Design, certainly not makeup. But at the same time i am using ACTUAL crew credits here, so my data will not simply Creature Design, it will spell out what that role really is. Rho, while I am very anal about the Rules, I also realize that the Rules are experience based so I am far more flexible in this regard that some like yourself. If a Role fits d=ue to oversight or due to Hollywood slipping us a curve, then i will look to the intent, which is why I am not concerned about things like functional equivalents, I only worry about what was in mind when the system was in designed and we did realize that we would never be able to explain the capture of everything that was possible because of Hollywood constantly being creative or simply not having seen it.

I have been talking about "Artificial Raven by" being a direct translation of "Creature Designer". Do you agree with Giga Wizard that this is covered by the rules?

No, i don't think i would agree on that. I would have a hard time calling it a functional equivalent. Without open creds i am not sure we could ever allow for that kind of a cred. But then there are always going to be things lkike that, that COULD however be handled  using the OTHER Role, it won't be contributed but...
