But in days where hard drives up to TB are only a few hundred dollars and over a thousand cover images (front & back) takes up just over a 100 MB, does it really matter?

Sure it matters.  In my case, not so much for the size.  For me I see the benefit in getting better scans for a box set for example, and not having to copy those better images to all the children profiles.  I think that would be a big benefit.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

No one's saying supersede the ability to add a unique scan to a child profile.  Just have a simple way to snag a parent scan.  Perhaps a check box that says use the parent scan.

Yeah I like that idea too, I'm about to embark on putting my phpdvdprofiler page online and every bit of disk space that can be saved, matters!

No need for me, but I can see the benifit for some users.

I think most will know, but perhaps there are a few users, it might be a help: For the copy and paste of the cover art you don't need to go into the edit dialogue. It also works directly with a right click on the cover window.

I am not worried about the space, I have about 3T, but it's the time to load the DVD Profiler or any operation that (at times) adds a new profile to the profiler from disc ID or the online db..

I've tried a number ways and programs to defrag the disc, Program Alignment (System Mechanic) seems to work the best.
I got a new one (O&O Pro.) that I can specify areas of the disc place catalogs, files together in a separate area.
I re-indexed that helped a little, to many things in it that is not there any more.
Got rid of all the fancy Microsoft's visuals. That also helped a lot.
Jacked with swap space, but didn't change much.
And I move any down loads (all sorted out by supplier) or documents off to external drives.

To load the DVD Profiler was taking about 3 minutes to load. And if I added a profile by disc ID the same at times.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

Or even easier, to copy back and front simultaniously. Right click the Title itself --> Copy --> Paste Cover Images
