But it does mean something to those who chose not to blindly follow the hype of ipad/iphone/ipod, and do what 'everyone else' has done.

Android is a valid platform, and not a niche platform as the ios people would have you believe, or at least as much of niche platform as ios is.

It is great to hear that Invelos has recognised they need to cater for Android devices, and are currently building a Android version of this great product. Hopefully we'll see it in the not too distant future.

Did you really need to be insulting?

In my case I don't even own any type of cell phone let alone an iphone or android. All I have that I can have profiler on is a Windows XP desk top and a Windows 7 laptop. Which is why I said it didn't mean anything to me.

Yeah, I'm an iOS guy too!

Still, with all the uproar about people wanting an Android version, I had to chuckle that no one noticed that!

I used to be iOS until my Ipod touch self destructed at the beginning of the year and I decided to move to Android. (I couldn't afford an iphone and I decided it was too risky after the problems with the touch).

I never read Ken's announcement since I was just viewing updates in the beta forum.

I assume that we will know when it's imminent when the forums get some new areas to cover support for the Android version - and I'll no doubt shell out for that version (which will make the 4th version I've bought).

Certainly a lot less insulting that some of the anti-android posts earlier in this thread.

Have a cup of cement and harden the f** up.

It is a fact of life that there is a huge amount of hype and hoopla over those ios devices. Not everyone will get let around by this hype, and make their own decisions based upon their own personal requirements.

Both Android and ios devices can happily live together, and as I said earlier it is good to hear that Invelos have decided to bring Android users out of the cold and back in as part of the DVD Profiler community.

Well, I'm very pleased.

Just a week or two ago I bought a new MP3 player that is Android based; and I was gutted when I realised I wouldn't be able to get Profiler for it.

Do also keep in mind that not all iOS users are sheep.  I'm a computer programmer who's been doing so professionally since 1991.  I build my own computers, do my own tech support, have played with MacOS, Windows (since 3.0), Linux, etc.

When it comes to electronic devices, I'm completely knowledgeable, make my own decisions, have played with Apple and Android devices.  Some of us actually choose Apple and their iDevices because we actually want them and we like what we have!  It has nothing to do with following a crowd or being ignorant or wanting to be cool.

Sheesh, you guys are just way too damn soft for your own good.

I did not say every single person who has ios stuff is a sheep, some such as yourself made a consscious decision to go that way.

Sadly the majority of people with ios stuff are just dumb hype driven sheep.

Just ask the average joe in the street who has a iphone, why did they get the iphone over say a HTC or Samsung Android phone, and the answer you are more likely to get than not is that their mates have the same phone, and that they did not know there were alternatives, or if they did know of others, they were told that they were inferior by owners of iphones.

That is why I say ios stuff, whilst a valid choice for some, is hype driven by people trying to be 'cool'.

Once again, if you made a choice after research, you were one of the minority of ios owners.

To repeat myself, it is good to see Invelos have finally recognised the Android part of the market they had previously ignored.

Sadly, the same can be said for Android users.  Though they will never admit it, a lot of them are simply anti-iOS hype driven sheep.

Good and valid point you bring up there.

Although I see you intended that as a dig at me, but I'm sure there's a number of 'my platform is better than your platform'.

I do however have nothing against ios as it stands.

You see incorrectly.  My only intent was to point out the fact that there are Android sheep as well.  Speaking for myself, I don't care what platform people use and honestly don't understand people that do.
