Actually, the promise was 180 Mb/s download, but for the moment I can live with this 180 MBit for a private access-point ... I guess I have to move to the Netherlands. In Germany they are trying to sell us 32 MBit as "Sophisticated" and 100 MBit as "State Of The Art", the average speed is somewhere between 10 and 16 MBit (provided you get DSL at all, in many regions we are stuck with ISDN or even worse analogue connections). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Recently upgraded too 100 Mb/s. Measured over 5GHz wi-fi. Quite good, I would say. Me too, though i was only promised 10Mb/s upload. |

180 MBit for a private access-point ... In all fairness, there were slightly cheaper options with lower bandwidth choices, but I decided to treat myself with a nice deal (1 year contract, 30 €/m first 6 months 60 €/m thereafter, and a decent choice of digital TV stations included with some on HD, modem installation free). I already had a HD TV cable decoder. For true price of the ISP, subtract the standard price for TV only provision -- around 18 €/m. Of course, you need a home with a cable TV connection and a cable operator that does internet. Most of them do in the Netherlands now. That said, in some rural areas you may not have it, nor proper ADSL (too far away from the switch) and have to resort to low ADSL, dial-up or satellite internet. Of course, by the nature of cable TV, you have only one choice. There are different operators serving different parts of the country, each having their own deals. So, welcome to the Netherlands, get used to our national colour (orange if you didn't know), make sure to switch sides on football but choose your home carefully . | | | Eric
