| Posted: | | | | What is the cost of this plug-in after 30 day trial Matthias? It isn't clear on your website, it appears to be a no-choice donation?

| Posted: | | | | he has it on his website HERE... is... Quote: Profile Comparison Plus Registration costs 10 Euro and includes free updates for at least one year. No offense meant... but I decided to just stick with invelos' standard comparison screen. The one Matthias made is very nice indeed.. but not something I would pay extra for. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

I was actually looking forward for it, but Invelos' comparison screen will have to do. | | | Last edited: by RossRoy |

I recommend to take a look at Rho's comparison skin included in his Rho Classic layout. It beats the default Invelos' comparison screen. I remember using RHo's layout several years ago -- until Goodguy released his -- and it WAS much better than Intervocative's default -- so I'll give his version 1.3.6 a try. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | I've been using the old plugin so much that I feel I've already got 10 Euros's worth, so I decided to pay up immediately.
Yes, there are other comparison skins that are better than the default, but none that comes close to this one, IMHO.
Just one thing, after I installed the plugin I couldn't start Profiler. It showed the splash screen and after maybe 1/4 of the load time it just quit. After re-installing Profiler it worked ok. Not a big thing, but it may put some people off. I'm using Vista Home Premium. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

I have tested the Plugin on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista (Ultimate) without any problems. | | | Matthias |

Thanks for the update Goodguy, but at 10 Euro, it's almost half the price I paid for DVD Profiler with unlimited update. | | | Certainty of death... Small chance of success... Same here... Thanks for the update Goodguy, but at 10 Euro, it's almost half the price I paid for DVD Profiler with unlimited update. It's the "free updates for a year" limitation that is troublesome. It might be worth considering if it were a one-time charge like Profiler (though half the price of the Profiler program itself seems a bit steep). But what happens with the next update? Would we have to pay for that one, too, to be able to continue using the layout? | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | I've used this one so much I was already thinking of making a donation anyway. As a fellow plug-in writer, I know just how much hard work goes into these plug-ins (especially when you ignore .NET and choose to do things the hard way ) and how frequently the donate button is used. I've avoided downloading any updates since 3.5 came out just because I've been waiting for this, so I have no problem with it I guess. Though I might take advantage of the trial version until after the holidays. The kids have to come first. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. With most software, you have to pay for new versions. Ken's offer is pretty unique in that way. Quote: (though half the price of the Profiler program itself seems a bit steep). I't like that indie DVD, released 3 years ago, which still costs 20 bucks, whereas you get the blockbuster from half a year ago for 5 bucks. That's all I have to say on that matter. I would prefer to keep this thread for support questions and feature discussions. But you are of course free to voice your opinion. | | | Matthias | | | Last edited: by goodguy |

Would we have to pay for that one, too, to be able to continue using the layout? Yeah, I have to join the choir here... I actually had planned on donating 20 USD (~15€) when I saw the "3.5.0-compatible" version, but now I actually feel that paying would be giving in to black-mail... I know, it probably doesn't make any sense, but consider me a former user of this plugin... Instead, I will donate my 20 USD to mediadogg for his "Ptouch Label and Barcode Print and Save," even though he hasn't updated this to 3.5.0 yet (and I actually don't really care, as I don't use any of the new 3.5.0-fields on my labels)... | | | The future is here. | Posted: | | | | I just used it and have two observations. 1. I'd personally like to see Studios and Publisher in their own sections. It looks odd having both of them contained in a single section. 2. I think it might look cleaner if the HTML tags in the overview were displayed as italics and bold rather than as HTML tags. Hard to say without seeing it, but I think I'd prefer to see the end results over the code. Neither issue are deal breakers of course. It looks fantastic as always. And I will be purchasing it eventually. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. | | | Last edited: by Mark Harrison |

That's because the Publisher technically belongs to the studio section. The Studio lock affects both regular studios and publisher. And you have only a Studios tickbox in the Accept Partial box at the bottom of the window, which again affects both studios and publisher. If Ken chooses to change that, I will change it too. Might be worth making an option in a future version. | | | Matthias | | | Last edited: by goodguy |
