| Posted: | | | | I would suggest reduce the subtitles down to a simple list of languages (ie no commentary etc), then, have check boxes next to each language for regular, sdh, burned-in and commentary/trivia. This would allow us to record whether SDH subtitles are present, what language a commentary is in, etc.
I would suggest the same for audio, with the checkboxes being regular, described and commentary. This would add a lot of useful info without mucking up the interface too much. | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |

| Posted: | | | | I would definately welcome additional options, in particular an option for marking hard of hearing subtitles. It should also be updated with the fact that remote selected subtitles may also be used as stated by Gerri. |

| Posted: | | | | Excellent suggestion Ace! A bit similar to how we now split up channels and audio codecs in the audio section in the new beta.
Might I add an additional suggestion for a checkbox? Hidden/Easter Egg: this shows feature-length subtitles that are on the disc but can only be accessed through certain manipulations, which are then explained in the Easter Egg section. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | Yes that too Taro would be good for you as you and I have discussed. I do like the Easter Egg format for it since one has to(1) know it's there and then (2) know that he has to change the Master Language setting to access it. But an Easter egg checkbox to, in effect, refer the user to that area for more info, is a good idea.

| Posted: | | | | If such a change were to be incorporated, it would be a shame not to capture information about available Closed Captions in the same place. I understand the technical method employed is different, but the function is similar. This would be valuable data for those who rely upon it. Quoting CalebAndCo: Quote: Four columns with list boxes under a heading of Subtitles/Captions:
Language (self-explanatory) Type: Standard; SDH; other types. Method: Burned-in; Subtitle; CC Access: Selectable; Forced; Easter Egg
(Audio languages should be treated the same way for the same reason.) |
