Hallo!

I don't know how to solve this issue, so I post it here.

In EAN 5-035822-271234 (Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle) I found Lucy Liu playing the role of Alex.
In EAN 5-017188-815789 (The Kill Bill Collection) I found Lucy Alexis Liu playing the role of O-Ren Ishii.

Both are the same person ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005154/ )

This is a very small issue, but maybe someone wants to fix it. He or she will have my gratitude.

Hopefully I posted this into the right forum. If not, please move this posting and accept my apologies.

Yours

Chris

This is a user built db.  As a fellow user, you are able to fix this yourself.

The first thing you need to do is determine which of those credits is the most credited form.  To do that, you would use the 'Credit Lookup' tool.  That can be found unter the database tab above.

Once entered, you will find that "Lucy Liu" is credited in 402 titles (892 profiles) and "Lucy Alexis Liu" is credited following 72 titles (117 profiles).

Based on that information, and assuming those credits are correct, you would change the entry for 'The Kill Bill Collection' to 'Lucy Liu credited as Lucy Alexis Liu.

If you need more detailed help on how to do this, please don't hesitate to ask.  Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Lucy Alexis Liu?!

I've not seen her credited as this in any movies I've seen her in, so I have no idea where this credit might have come from..

It would seem that the profile you are referring to is wrong, so you should correct it and explain in your notes that you have corrected the profile according to Film's credits...

I understand your concerns and Unicus has it right. But allow me to point out to you that this DVDProfiler not some other database that deals in fiction.

Allow me to point out that our Contribution Rules state:

Cast

For the purposes of this section we define "standard" film credits as those where all credited actors involved are listed together in a single section at the end of the film - defined here as the "end credits". The section details both the actor’s Name and the Role that they played in the film. The credits may be listed "in order of appearance", "alphabetical order" or in an order of importance decided by the filmmakers. Some actors may be credited a second time in either credits at either the opening or close of the film.

For any film with standard credits, take the actor information from the end credits only, with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited. Exception: If the credit information is entirely capitalized, use standard capitalization rules instead.

So the kind of thing you found is possible, and the answer is through our Alias system. Not you or any other user has the ability to make a decision to change ACTUAL credits.

You can perhaps document that the Credits a we have thenm listed are incorrect and the ACTUAL credit reads this way, this too happens because ocassionally a user will manage to mainpulate the database on a temporary basis, but when that is discovered as they always are then they should be corrected to match the film's REAL credits per the Rules.

That would explain alot - as I have not seen that movie (and don't intend to do so either  ).

Still - CLT gives these results;
Lucy Liu 402/891
Lucy Alexis Liu 72/117

and she is not credited as Lucy Alexis Liu in Kill Bill...

What locality is this Kill Bill Collection?  I suppose if it's non-US there might be a different set of credits, but I don't know which this is supposed to be.

EDIT:  From the CLT, it looks like this EAN is for a UK release.  There's also a Swiss disc of Kill Bill that has the Lucy Alexis Liu billing listed in the CLT.  I wonder where this came from, if not the credits?  She's 'Lucy Liu' on the IMDB so the usual culprit isn't involved this time.

I did say she was   and that is also why I do not go by the CLT 100%. I have found alot of mistakes with it. With that being said that also means there is alot of mistakes in the data base as well.
