| Posted: | | | | Not that I asked for it, but since my latest Blu-ray purchase (Juno) included a "Digital Copy" I thought, why not download it to my iPod. Except the redeem code inside the case only works if my iTunes account is registered to a US or Canadian address... Another reason to make illegal copies that works, unlike the "real" thing. Idiots. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

The DVD of Juno was released as a standard edition and a "Digital Copy Special Edition". I bought the latter one, because, from the press release, it seemed that the SE would include some additional featurettes. I'm still not sure what's the what. Fact is that all extras are on disc 1. Disc 2 only contains the Digital Copy. dvdtalk reviews the SE and claims both editions are identical except for the added Digital Copy disc. However, I can't tell if they make that claim based on the disc layout of the SE, or if they truly had a look at the standard edition as well. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | Is this the case for all digital copies? you need to be in US/Canada and its through iTunes?
Anyone that has these on other disks know? I plan on eventually getting the new Die Hard, and if the version with the digital copy is the same situation mentioned above with Juno, I'll save the money and just get the regular version. (not sure on how the digital copy is packaged with the Die Hard set)
Anyone have this and can comment?

-Agrare The one for Alien vs. Predator: Requiem allows you to copy it for Windows Media Player without the hassle of iTunes. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | Juno also gives you the choice of tranferring to Windows media players...of course the serial number provided on the enclosed card came up as invalid. What is the matter with these people? They sell a product in Canada with bilingual covers and the Canadian rating on the back, but then the disc they include is completely useless. I asked them how this was better than me just ripping it on my own...for some reason thay have not answered my queries. I can also confirm that the phone number provided for customer support does not work in Canada. |

| Posted: | | | | I have two R1 dvd's with the digital copy on them first one is The Hitman and the other one is Resident Evil: Extinction both of the dvd's are for windows media player and the Sony PSP. I did not have any problems in coping them to my laptop and it did not require iTunes. | | | Last edited: by Dragon 6 |

Not that I'm going to do a thing with the digital copy for Juno that I just got, but I seem to recal reading some fine print in the enclosures that said the serial number would only be good until Apr 30 of next year. I didn't see a copy in the stores that omitted the digital copy disk and wasn't aware there was even an option to get just the BR single disk. Did that single-disk version retail for less than the one I got? If so, that's a pisser. | | | Last edited: by MsPaula |

| Posted: | | | | Just got a response from Fox regarding the Canada issue:Dear Valued Customer, Apple has aknowledged the issue with digital copy not working for Canadian customers and they are addressing it. Apple is working on this as fast as possible. For updates and any issues you are having with loading your digital copy to iTunes please go to apple.com/support. Also, i've issued you a new code: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (removed by me )Thank You, FOX Digital Copy Support Team Two day response time, not bad. And that new code they gave me works for the wmv file. Its not quite DVD quality on my computer, but for a portable device I am sure it would look just fine. No explanation why the Customer Support number does not work in Canada though. |

| Posted: | | | | I have a Zune instead of an iPod so these are freakin' worthless to me too. I can now get them into WMP, a Windows product, but not onto my Zune, also a Windows product. Makes about as much sense as... (fill it in yourself). So now I still have to rip the real dvds and convert them to put them on my player. Not sure about Juno, but the Alien Vs Predator: Requiem 2 discs was similar. The second disc is just the digital copy, but there were a lot more extras on disc 1 of the set opposed to the single disc version so I bit. This new "digital copy" craze needs to die quick. All it is is another marketing ploy making you think you're getting something special, when you're not. To waste a whole second disc on these is obsurd, to charge more is even worse. What about us that don't own iPods? It's a waste of space and plastic. To those who have iPods and love this feature, no offense meant. I'm sure this is good for some, but there are many who get no benefit since they make it only work on one format, that is false advertising and should be stopped. Either make the digital copies available and usefull for everyone, or stop making them period! At least put warnings that they only work with iPod and/or WMP. Right now AvP says "digital copy for portable media players". This is a lie as I have a portable media player and can't use it. It should say "digital copy for iPods only". Does anyone have another portable player besides iPod or Zune? Do these work for you? | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

-Agrare I have the Best Buy steelbook, which I believe is the same contentwise as the unrated 2 disc version. This has the digital copy on disc 2, but most of the extras are on disc 2 as well. Proving beyond any doubt that to have a whole disc dedicated to the digital copy is silly and un-nessesary. Not sure if this works with WMP or not, I haven't even wasted time trying to use the digital copy since I know I can't put it on my Zune. | | | Last edited: by bigdaddyhorse |

| Posted: | | | | I was just at Borders and took a look at both versions of Juno. It's the same deal as AvP2, the 2 disc has a few extra featurettes that the single doesn't, but the second disc is just the digital copy.
For both of these titles it's just the featurettes that are exclusive to the 2-discers. The deleted scenes and gag reels are on the single disc versions. |
