I'm talking about Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond.

From the rules:
Episode descriptors are part of the title; separate them with a colon and space; e.g. "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock". For multiple descriptors, use a colon and space for each break.

So should they be Star Trek: Into Darkness and Star Trek: Beyond or without the colon?

Since these are "Episode" descriptors of the sequels do we follow the rules or leave the titles as is?

I'd say without, but I wouldn't downvote someone retitling with a colon, because I can't think of a practical reason not to, other than Star Trek: Beyond being a silly title.

To me, it's how it rolls off the tongue. Star Trek Beyond and Star Trek Into Darkness sound correct. You're not pausing for a semicolon like you are when you say, for example, Star Trek: First Contact.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Going by the credit block on the back covers, I would say no colon.

No colon. It's meant as an action phrase. Kinda like "Batman Begins" or "The Dark Knight Rises". You wouldn't enter those as "Batman: Begins" or "The Dark Knight: Rises". That'd just be silly.
